ASALT Responder Program
The ASALT Responder designation is awarded to participants who complete the full civilian readiness pathway designed to develop confidence, judgment, preparedness, and practical response skills for real-world emergencies and personal safety situations. The complete ASALT Responder program consists of 50 hours of professional instruction and hands-on training, including:
Emergency Medical Response & Trauma Care (16 Hours)
- CPR/AED & Choking Response (4 Hours): Adult, child, and infant CPR, AED operation, choking emergencies, scene safety, and emergency response fundamentals.
- First Aid Fundamentals (2 Hours): Common medical emergencies, injury management, burns, fractures, illness recognition, and practical care considerations.
- Stop the Bleed / Trauma Response (6 Hours): Tourniquets, wound packing, pressure dressings, chest seals, trauma assessment, MARCH principles, and severe bleeding emergencies.
- Stress Scenario Role Play (4 Hours): Realistic hands-on emergency simulations designed to build confidence and decision-making under pressure.
Personal Safety, Protection & Firearms Readiness (30 Hours)
- Basic Pistol & Personal Safety (8 Hours): Foundational firearm safety, situational awareness, home and personal safety, avoidance strategies, and protective mindset concepts adapted from civilian safety principles, including Refuse To Be A Victim®.
- Basic Concealed Carry / CCW (8 Hours): Colorado concealed carry fundamentals, lawful self-defense principles, de-escalation, conflict avoidance, use-of-force considerations, and responsible concealed-carry lifestyle training.
- Advanced CCW & Defensive Decision-Making (8 Hours): Scenario-based decision making, post-incident considerations, advanced legal concepts, defensive mindset, and practical carry considerations.
- Instructor-Guided Range Training (6 Hours): Live-fire coaching and supervised practical application with instructor feedback across firearm safety and concealed-carry skills.
Protective Intelligence & Personal Security (4 Hours)
Situational awareness, travel safety, cyber safety fundamentals, surveillance awareness, harassment and stalking considerations, personal security habits, and threat recognition strategies are designed to prevent problems before they occur.

Maintaining ASALT Responder Status
To maintain an active ASALT Responder status, participants complete a 4-hour ASALT Skills Sustainment Training every 6 months. Sustainment training reinforces critical life-saving, personal safety, legal, and decision-making skills while incorporating updated best practices, realistic scenarios, legal updates, and hands-on repetitions to help maintain confidence and preparedness when seconds matter.
Commitment to Preparedness
The complete ASALT Responder pathway represents more than $800 in professional civilian readiness training when taken separately.
To support long-term preparedness and reward commitment to the full program, participants who enroll in the ASALT Responder pathway receive a 20% program enrollment savings when paid upfront, with 12 months to complete all required training.
This structure allows students to build confidence and competence over time while developing real-world skills in emergency medical response, trauma care, personal safety, lawful self-defense, concealed carry, and threat awareness.
